Located on the same plot as the future Collège des Rives, the extension to the (new) SDIS fire station in northern Vaud is part of the city's drive to extend its center of gravity towards the lake and bring the area to life. In keeping with the urban principles of the building context, it takes up the urban form of the surrounding buildings. The outdoor areas between the college and the barracks will serve as public spaces and accommodate the various outdoor uses associated with these two buildings.

The building will house the city's fire department and the Nord Vaudois police force.
To best meet the needs of these users, the fire station will be laid out in two parts: a tempered hall offering high spaces (steel/concrete structure) and a heated head (concrete structure) organized over 2 levels. 

The whole is clad in a “skin” linking the two parts of the structure in a common architectural language, creating a single, compact building. The sober, rational architectural expression of the building reflects both the industrial character of the site and its function as a fire station. Perforated sheeting and large openings express the building's purpose.
