Les Niveaux is a small, newly built village with an exquisitely Walser flavor in Courmayeur, in the Aosta Valley. We had the pleasure of intervening in the interior design of a chalet owned by a young couple. The house is spread over three levels,
the semi-basement floor houses a large cinema room with a bar corner, here a gym area with sauna has also been created; a staircase leads to the immediately upper floor where the kitchen with dining area and the reading area with stone fireplace are spread into a large open space; continuing along the staircase you reach the sleeping area, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The house is warm and welcoming and speaks a taste that dialogues between the contemporary and the mountain style. Wood is the protagonist, but without excess, it covers some walls leaving freshness to other corners which are instead treated with lime. The furnishings have been designed and studied specifically to make the most of the spaces, characterize the rooms and integrate into the space by interacting with the parquet, creating an enveloping material and chromatic continuity.
Light plays an important role in the home, deliberately discreet, designed to create corners, areas illuminated and emphasized by adjustable spotlights and integrated LEDs, which light up and give life to the rooms. The tones are natural, warm, with contrasting black accents that make the chalet contemporary. The bathrooms are covered in Luserna stone, masterfully treated and carved by local artisans. A house that reflects very well the combination of intent and taste of the clients and Nomade!
