The design idea was to create a compact building that blends in well with the surrounding landscape and the local image. The external dimensions of the hall are approximately 31 x 20 m. They include the following premises: Fabrication, salt bath, cheese storage, washing room, cold storage cells, magazine, tank storage, laboratory, preparation and changing room, showers and toilets, technical rooms and an office.
For the facade, wooden slats in larch will be used. Larch is a characteristic feature of the Val Müstair. Due to the location and altitude of the valley, it grows right down to the valley floor. It is resinous and resistant and ideally suited for wooden facades. Therefore, and because of its connection with the valley, it is more than suitable for the planned wooden facade.
The energy needed for heating is largely obtained via district heating from the nearby company.
