What was the brief?
The client asked for a chandelier as a statement piece in front of the window in their entry stair of the home they are currently constructing.
What were the key challenges?
The design challenge was to highlight the natural beauty and to preserve the integrity of the algae material.
The technical challenge was to hang the chandelier on a sloped ceiling.
What materials did you choose and why?
We chose the biomaterial algae because of its emerald green color and its ability to filter and soften the light emanating from LED bulbs.
