Cicek Apartment Buildings is an urban renewal project in the neighbourhood of Etiler in Besiktas, one of İstanbul's oldest district. The residential types, with 3 flats on each floor. In responce to contemporary needs the flats vary from 50 - 90 m² with one or two bedrooms. The plans for the present occupants. Vertical and horizontal lines that break the symmetry of the plans on the façade, provide solar and climatic control. Adjustable wooden sun louvres further enhnce solar control. Natural stone and wooden façade elements help the building to harmonize with the greenery that predominates in the vicinity. Reinforced concrete was used for the construction.
