Clinique Innovation

The mandate consisted of orchestrating the development of a medical-aesthetic clinic measuring just over 10,000 square feet. The Innovation Clinic was established in a new wood-frame building located in Laval. In addition to the clinical spaces and consultation offices, the project's major challenge lay in integrating an operating room housing two state-of-the-art operating rooms and a recovery room. The team ensured that its design was both functional and technical. Furthermore, the choice of materials proved crucial, as it was implicitly linked to the hygiene of the premises. The team's involvement helped define a new identity for the space, in addition to designing all the plans and specifications and managing the entire project.

To fully grasp the conceptual context of the project, it is important to understand the reality of the clinic and its clientele. The clientele is primarily female and attends the clinic for medical-aesthetic treatments and various surgical procedures. Given this reality, the space needed to be intimate and sensitive while remaining modern.

A symbiosis of curved and linear forms was deliberately chosen to accentuate circulation axes and points of interest. Furthermore, the design strategy relies on the interplay of light and shadows contrasts. Despite these contrasts, an atmosphere imbued with softness and well-being emanates from the space.

The wooden structure, as a strong and distinct element, was thoughtfully integrated into the concept. A thorough analysis of the mechanical and electrical distribution allowed for a discreet yet efficient integration of all elements, the latter blending harmoniously with the design intentions. The secluded waiting room offers the desired privacy, not only through its location, but also through its furnishings and subdued lighting.

Finally, one of the biggest challenges lay in integrating the boutique, a separate business. The Folio Design team focused on a harmonious form by enhancing the materiality of the metals and the unique textures of pink tones specific to this area. Although the boutique is the first point of contact with visitors, it integrates perfectly with the clinic's overall identity, creating a cohesive and complete environment.
