XN Worldwide Insurance, a global leader in innovative insurance solutions, wanted to rethink the layout of its offices in downtown Montreal. The idea was to move away from the conventional work environment and create a more flexible space, better suited to their current needs. Combining vision, rigor, and understanding of the objectives, the Folio Design team led this renovation project to a success appreciated by management and users alike.
Wanting to differentiate itself from traditional insurance companies, the mandate at XN Worldwide Insurance was to create a work environment adapted to the new reality. The goal was to design a space that was both friendly and warm. From the early stages of the design, it became clear that this would not be a traditional office.
The vision was to create a unifying and collaborative space, an essential passageway to foster connections between users, now in an environment without assigned desks. The elimination of the traditional reception area, with its reception desk and waiting room, allowed for a complete overhaul of the layout, highlighting spaces that were usually private. The bistro, now transformed into a reception area, invites internal collaboration and encourages informal exchanges.
Although the project involves a redevelopment of the existing offices, and several existing rooms have been preserved, the user experience and the spirit of the space have been completely redesigned.
The bold approach to enhancing areas that were usually private, the contrasts in shapes, textures, and colors, as well as the reinvention of the traditional reception area, make this project a model for the future of work environments, distinguishing itself from what is commonly seen.
