SOGOMGAN, a café, is inspired by the concept of a mill and a "salt storage space," derived from the old word for "salt." The concept of SOGOMGAN was to create a space that was both warm and intimate. The simple structure and efficient flow of movement evoked a sense of warmth and stability.

Because the space embraces the theme of a bakery café, consideration was given to how the bakery counter, displaying desserts and baked goods, and the customer area would seamlessly blend into the space, ensuring seamless movement. Considering the layout and customer flow was a challenge.

SOGOMGAN primarily utilizes brick, European plaster, reclaimed lumber, and wood. The floor is a cool gray with a microcement finish, creating a deliberate contrast between the walls and floor. The overall theme evokes a warm yet stable atmosphere.

A central space for group tables and a bakery counter was placed on the floor plan. As you move further in, the arrangement of tables and chairs becomes more interesting.

The sides of the space are designed for four-person seating, while the central area, with its focal point, offers a space that can be used as a table and chairs.

As you move deeper into the space, hidden spaces are created, and even these are designed to accommodate groups.
