Living in a rural context

The residential context with 25 units evokes various patterns of previous agglomerations in Kaltern. The architecture strikes the eye as familiar, simple and straightforward. Yet, when used and moved through as a space, it manifests its own complexity and surprises. Nature and architecture merge seamlessly in specific spots, orderly arrangement becomes an organically grown structure, and vice versa. A residential and play street is at the heart of the complex and will be the determining element of the social environment. The complex is surrounded by little pathways, combining with the residential street and green corridor to form a convoluted pathway network, opening up the very diverse, semi-public spaces for communication and interaction as well as for retreat.
