Space as Strategy: The Dynamics of Comex Tech Forum 2026

When the foreign trade sector gathers to debate the future of global operations, the physical infrastructure hosting these discussions must reflect that same level of efficiency, intelligence, and connectivity. On September 2nd, the 4th edition of the Comex Tech Forum, organized by Logcomex, took place at the Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo, cementing its position as a definitive hub for the industry.

Developing the master plan and scenography for this project meant approaching event design through the specific lens of performance and endurance.

The dynamics of a one-day conference impose an inherently fast-paced rhythm. With a robust agenda packed with strategic panels and presentations, attendees are exposed to a high volume of data and interactions.

This year, discussions focused heavily on the practical application of Artificial Intelligence—notably intelligent agents automating logistics operations—the strategic value of data analytics in identifying market opportunities, and the need for supply chains to adapt to an unpredictable economic and geopolitical landscape.

Given the density of these topics, the core objective of our architectural design was to create an environment that mitigates physical and cognitive fatigue, facilitating knowledge absorption and keeping thousands of industry leaders engaged from the beginning of the agenda to the end.

In designing the event layout, we moved away from the traditional, monotonous corridor-based approach, opting instead to create genuine zones of transition and fluidity. Exhibition and circulation areas were carefully zoned to distribute the flow of people, preventing visual, thermal, or acoustic congestion.

We recognize that, at high-level corporate events, the most significant business deals often take place during the breaks between scheduled sessions. For this reason, the creation of spaces for decompression and networking—including the entire planning of the "VIP Experience" area—was treated as a project priority.

These environments were configured based on a meticulous study of ergonomic furniture, targeted atmospheric lighting, and comfortable spatial design. The design objective was clear: to provide facilities that would allow for high-quality meetings and moments of respite, encouraging attendees to remain and interact within the pavilion for the duration of the event, rather than dispersing.

A mature approach to corporate design does not need—nor should it attempt—to rely on aesthetic excess. Our focus was on the precision of construction choices: the strategic use of light to highlight spatial hierarchies, the specification of materials that convey the solidity inherent to the logistics sector, and a layout centered on organic human flow.

Designing the Comex Tech Forum 2026 reinforces Finestra Arquitetura’s vision regarding the pragmatic role of spatial design. In high-density events, ephemeral architecture serves an essential performance function: it acts as the infrastructure that enables the physical and mental comfort of those in attendance. By ensuring acoustic suitability, intuitive circulation, and high-quality environments, spatial planning becomes a decisive factor in audience engagement—maximizing both the time spent on-site and the value of the connections forged throughout the day.
