The Central Hub as a Spatial Axis: Finestra Arquitetura’s Design for a Swedish Multinational’s New Corporate Blocks in Brazil

Consolidating the culture of a large enterprise demands architectural strategies that seamlessly balance operational performance with a genuine sense of community. Tasked with integrating approximately 290 employees across various departments within Blocks D and E of a leading Swedish multinational’s Brazilian headquarters, Finestra Arquitetura designed a 1,711-square-meter workspace where interior design serves as a catalyst for social connection, focus, and modern workflow fluidity.

At the core of the spatial strategy is the creation of a generous central hub that serves as the primary articulating link between the two building blocks. Conceived as an inviting civic square, this core gathers main entrances, the pantry, dining areas, and informal lounge spaces. By concentrating social interactions and daily pause moments into a single vibrant anchor, the design structures circulation intuitively, allowing movement to flow effortlessly between blocks without disrupting quiet, focus-intensive operational zones.

Radiating from this connecting axis, the program unfolds into a rich diversity of spatial typologies tailored to support multiple work modes throughout the day. Open workstation areas coexist with semi-enclosed booths, Single and Duo Focus rooms, quick touch points, and various formal and open meeting settings. This typology spectrum empowers employees to choose the environment best suited to their immediate tasks, transitioning smoothly between collective collaboration and individual focus.

Spatial boundaries and navigation are defined through a subtle, intelligent synergy of architectural and technical elements. Rather than deploying rigid partitions, Finestra utilized ceiling geometries, linear lighting paths, and distinct floor patterning as intuitive wayfinding tools. Custom millwork, high-performance acoustic panels, phone booths, and agile lockers play a dual role: fulfilling storage and operational needs while sculpting spatial transitions and maintaining acoustic comfort across a large-scale floor plate.

The Swedish brand's corporate identity is integrated tactfully throughout the floor plan, weaving brand colors into textile upholstery, custom joinery finishes, and biophilic curation by Garden House. Beyond visual aesthetics, the project reflects a deep commitment to human well-being and long-term adaptability. Durable material selection, streamlined construction logic, and versatile furniture layouts ensure the facility can evolve alongside the company's future operational growth.

By linking Blocks D and E through a central social hub and an intuitive spatial layout, Finestra Arquitetura delivers a dynamic, human-centric, and highly integrated workplace ecosystem built to support people and nurture company culture for years to come.
