Brought to fruition through a complete demolition and rebuild, the modern campus boasts a 140,639-square-foot Academic Building, a 900-seat Performing Arts Center designed in collaboration with famed Compton native Dr. Dre, and collegiate-level athletics and aquatics facilities that extend opportunity beyond the classroom. Guided by an inclusive, participatory design process with the community, district, and school leadership, DLR Group tailored the campus to create connections between its buildings and make learning visible and interactive.

An Academic Boulevard weaves through the campus, linking project-based learning and career and technical education curriculum. Ground-level CTE studios showcase construction, robotics, media arts, culinary, and engineering programs and immerse students in hands-on, workforce-aligned training. Classrooms are reenvisioned as flexible learning suites with interactive displays and moveable walls that allow for interdepartmental collaboration and spaces that are customizable depending on group size and instructional format. Glass walls foster transparency and dynamic learning, with abundant daylighting enhancing student and teacher wellbeing and supporting positive learning outcomes.

Every element of the campus is designed to inspire and elevate the student experience and support students’ college readiness and exploration of diverse career pathways. The Performing Arts Center features industry-standard acoustics, lighting, stage technology, and video production and digital music labs – equipping the next generation of Compton artists and performers with hands-on, professional grade tools to hone their craft.  The facility doubles as a community venue, hosting school and public events that reinforce the campus as a neighborhood hub.

The gym and field house are designed for multi-use community engagement, continuing Compton's legacy of athletic excellence.
