It is an allotment of 5 houses on a plot where the lots occasionally have very tall and slender large trees. The vegetation on the site is quite dense and luxuriant creating a bucolic environment.
In this sense, the Houses are constituted by Horizontal plans that extend beyond the limit of the construction and are cut in the places where they find the nature – existing trees. The shape of the construction boundary is also rounded in the corners to approximate the organic shape of nature and to allow greater fluidity of spaces and the Interior – Exterior relationship.
Given the nature of the place that determines the “spirit of the place”, the new buildings are integrated in this Harmony, in this perfection and fill the existing “voids”. The Project’s idea is to build 5 stone blocks (with curved corners) strategically positioned among the existing vegetation so that the perception is that they already existed in this place.
The new organic constructions covered by wooden panels will coexist with existing trees in the place where the landscape design is decisive. The external coating allows an approximation to the existing material and at the same time transmits a feeling of comfort and tranquility.
It is in this symbiosis that the place maintains its balance and where nature and man complement each other. This idea of a green environment, a lot of vegetation, with organic constructions allows man to enjoy nature and at the same time that nature continues to play an important role in this habitat.
Associated with this we have a construction system of great energy efficiency that allows to have houses without maintenance and low energy costs. The “Ventilated Facade” system adopted, with good external thermal insulation, allows the energy expenditure to be minimal or zero due to the absence of thermal bridges and a high energy rating.
The concern to use local and economically more viable materials, eliminating manufacturing and transportation waste, also makes construction processes more efficient and productive. The chosen materials are maintenance free and allow greater durability. On the other hand, there is also a great concern in the use of renewable energies, such as the use of solar energy for heating sanitary waters combined with the re-use of rainwater for garden irrigation.
