What was the brief?
This is a venture capital firm that focuses their investments in both public and private companies. It specializes in incubation, seed stage, startup stage, early stage, and growth stage investments in private companies.
The client wanted a space that would not only function as a working office but would also give everyone a space to relax, come together and innovate as well as to represent the values of this investment firm.
What were the key challenges?
The team was given a tide timeline as to complete the entire project within 6weeks time for construction. It was challenging to the team as there were quite a few long lead items. However, we had support from our business partners who provide alternative solutions. We also communicate with the client closely to smoothen the entire process, including design development, materials selection and site review. Our team get the client’s involvement during the process and the client is happy with the outcome.
What materials did you choose and why?
We played with warm materials and a contemporary language in the disposition of the elements. The office has an open office space with a large living area for 24 people, 14 private cabins, one board meeting room, various meeting rooms with different settings and a large pantry for various settings.
The overall scheme, materials and colour palette were considered to compliment the ideals of the firm. Majority of the colours kept to an earthy palette of rusts, greens and natural materials and brick walls in the cabins breaks the monotony of a typical office space.
