The site is a developed land with the 5 meters higher embankment on the south side. To bring the most of the clientfs lifestyle into the space, who has a great knowledge of literature, it is proposed a library which include ten sliding book racks and a living space where they can enjoy their books whenever they want.
The library and a storage room are placed together in the center of the 1st floor where it is difficult to obtain sunlight. A living space is placed around them. One can enter the library located in the center anytime walking around the bright living space on outer perimeter of the building.
The living space is formed by eoffsettingf1.8 m or 2.7 m from a 3.6m x 3.6m external form of the central store space. The offset four corners form into arc from the corner of the store space, so the outline of the plan becomes without corners. It is comparatively easy to keep their privacy since the arcs are not facing right in front to the neighbors, so windows are installed on the corners. The material is an inexpensive polycarbonate sheet curved by cold forming on site.
The 2nd floor has a living/dining/kitchen with a large spatial volume. It is a corner-less space with a soft atmosphere and green brought in from the neighborhood on the south side as shakkei, borrowed landscape.
