Project Overview
Denver International Airport (DEN), one of the busiest airports in the United States, required a washroom solution capable of supporting extremely high user volumes while maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, and sustainability. Stern Engineering’s Tubular Trio in Stainless Steel AISI 316 was selected to meet these demands in public washrooms across the airport.
The Challenge
High-footfall airport washrooms face ongoing challenges including water spillage, slippery floors, excessive paper towel waste, and high consumption of water and soap. Traditional layouts often separate washing and drying areas, resulting in water dripping across the space and increased maintenance requirements.
The Solution
Stern’s Tubular Trio integrates a touch-free electronic tap, automatic soap dispenser, and hand dryer directly over the washbasin, allowing the entire handwashing and drying process to take place in one location. This configuration keeps water contained within the basin, significantly reducing floor wetness and improving overall washroom cleanliness.
Manufactured from corrosion-resistant Stainless Steel AISI 316, Tubular Trio is ideally suited to the demanding conditions of airport environments, delivering durability, reliability, and long service life.
Results & Benefits
Improved hygiene through fully touch-free operation
Cleaner washrooms by eliminating water dripping between wash and dry zones
Up to 50% water savings compared to conventional systems
Reduced soap consumption through controlled, measured dispensing
Elimination of paper towels, reducing waste and ongoing operational costs
Enhanced user flow, supporting fast, intuitive handwashing in busy washrooms
Conclusion
By implementing Stern’s Tubular Trio, Denver International Airport achieved a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable washroom environment. The integrated over-basin design supports efficient user movement, lowers resource consumption, and delivers a future-ready solution for high-traffic public facilities.
