An exhibition design that reflects the themes of speed, power and performance
Urban Salon worked as designers for the Design Museum’s Summer 2012 exhibition, ‘Designed to Win’. The show, which explored how design and sport combine to ‘push the limits of human endeavour’ required a strong exhibition design that reflected a sense of dynamism.
Our design featured a bamboo chute that ran down the entire length of the gallery and pulled visitors towards films of fast moving sports, shot from a first person point of view. This bold gesture created a sense of direction and destination reflecting the exhibition’s themes of speed, power and performance.
'It has been a pleasure to work with Urban Salon as their experience in exhibition design leads to an approach which is extremely object-focussed. This provides visitors with an informative learning experience, that is also dynamic and architecturally stimulating.'
Alex Newson, Curator of Designed to Win.
