As a landmark at the gateway to Cité Desjardins and the city of Lévis, this project holds a strong symbolic significance at the heart of the place where the Desjardins Movement was founded. The architectural intervention is both meaningful and respectful, expressing a balance between the institution’s historic values and its forward-looking vision.
Particular attention was paid to the building’s environmental performance, with strategies aimed at achieving LEED Silver certification, including the preservation of existing trees, geothermal energy, and the selection of locally sourced materials.
The architecture adopts a distinct expression according to its orientation. Along the east–west axis, the dynamic, rhythmic zinc-clad façade evokes movement and reflects the project’s regional scale. In contrast, the main façade facing Alphonse-Desjardins Street brings the project down to a more human scale, establishing a direct connection with Old Lévis.
The interior layout maximizes natural daylight and reimagines the workplace within the financial sector. A spacious, multifunctional lobby opens onto the park and outdoor plaza. Above, suspended timber volumes accommodate meeting rooms and lounge areas, while open-plan workstations give everyone equal access to natural light and encourage collaboration.
