Details is a home in North Scottsdale. The project was given that name because of the focus on the small details of a home that are often over looked. To define the kitchen that sits centered between the two main living spaces, it was done almost entirely in matte black laminate. The kitchen island was done in Pietra Gray Marble which was also inlaid on the floors below it. We created custom range venting that sits alongside matching light tubes.
The door into the laundry room is constructed from glass and steel, and doubles as a ladder to the overhead storage. In the bathrooms we focused on rethinking conventional fixtures utilizing the customization of concrete. The long sink is discreetly backlit and uses a non-traditional drain. Instead, it waterfalls into the drain of the shower- while simultaneously acting as a shelf in the shower. In the shower, a series of pyramid shaped concrete sculptures function as a waterfall shower head, a shelf, and a footrest.
The master bathroom hides behind a floor to ceiling sliding door and features a large shower with Ipe floors and pendant like shower heads, while the soaking tub sits under a collection canopy-less pendant lights. Unique tile transitions, custom light fixtures, and flush TV’s are just a few more of the little details that make this home special.
