With a new entrance pavilion the Archive building become accessible and inviting. Because of the complete reversal of the routing and the associated program the old building is literally placed in this. The pearl white entrance is already visible from the central station and accessible from the new archive garden or the nearby Museum Lane.
From the new entrance building further into the building, all new functions are strung together with a clear timeline back into history from the current time all the way back to the old wall from the mid-century’s.
Per period is another approach to architectural interventions and additions chosen.
