食街 – Eat Street, part staff canteen, part film set (part ping pong arena!), draws on Hong Kong’s diverse street life to create multiple zones reflecting the city’s unique dining culture.
An internal street bisects the space with each zone connecting through the centre. These zones can be used separately as sets for in-house film production or as one to feed the 1,000 strong workforce that make up the company.
The experience starts with Jimmy’s Lounge, a light take on a hidden jazz club complete with a grand piano for dinner time performances. Pomme Café evokes the relaxed atmosphere found in the back streets of Soho with draping greenery and a large communal bench for gathering. The Hong Kong café draws on all the elements of the classic diners that are synonymous with the city, all be it with slightly more generous proportions.
The Market Stall, Dai Pai Dong (Outdoor Hawker centre), and Ping Pong court act as one, paying tribute to the outdoor dining spaces scattered throughout the city. At the rear of the space, you can find the Yum Cha restaurant with custom table graphics and a sea of bird cages above.
Bold colours on the floor, walls, and furnishing differentiate each zone with neon signage welcoming a sense of playfulness and energy into the space.
