Eckert Seamans Attorneys at Law

LSM Interior Design as Designers

Our team completed a comprehensive redesign of a major U.S. law firm corporate headquarters in downtown Pittsburgh. The project was awarded to us in 2015 and took approximately 15 months to complete with a multimillion dollar total renovation budget. The scope of the project included three entire floors in the former U.S. Steel Tower, Pittsburgh’s tallest building. Our bespoke design influence worked hand-in-glove with the client to completely transform the main lobby, library, break rooms, restrooms, hallways, private attorney offices, elevator banks, administrative work spaces, and 26 conference rooms.

The lobby furniture is by Baker and the large silk area rug is by Lee Jofa for Kravet. Lobby, reception, and restroom vestibule wall coverings are by Phillip Jeffries. The break room wall covering is Black Edition by Romo. The carpet throughout the hallways is by Shaw and is a modular design. Modular carpet is a sensible option for commercial projects with relatively higher foot traffic and incidental wear. We used Masland carpet in the conference rooms and Bloomsburg carpet on the spiral staircase. Existing 12” x 12” marble in the hallway, lobby, and restrooms was replaced with 12” x 24” porcelain tile which is much more conducive to a high traffic commercial space. The artwork throughout is by Wendover, Paragon, and Celadon. The color scheme throughout is a tasteful nod to the iconic black and gold Pittsburgh sports teams.
