The 180-square-meter PORTAL educational center performs an important social mission, as it is located in the suburbs of Kyiv, where such spaces are not a common thing. The space perfectly serves for lectures, master classes, courses, and other educational activities for children of different ages.
The project designer was tasked with creating an interior-transformer that would allow the space to easily transform into different functions: lecture hall, coworking, a gallery for exhibitions. One of the solutions to this problem was mobile cabinets, which allow to divide one big hall in two small ones. At the entrance to the center, guests will find a mini-cafe with a variety of drinks for children and their parents. Above the bar table is a metal cage with hundreds of bright balls.
The terra-cotta chairs of the FAINA Ukrainian brand called TOPTUN have become a bright accent of the minimalist & light interior. For parents who wait for their children during workshops, comfortable cocoon chairs called LONO will suit delightfully, allow to relax and switch from the hustle and bustle.
For designers, it was very important to take into account the interests of all social groups: children and their parents, who are regular guests of the space.
