We conceived this house as terraced spaces that would make the most of this plot with a strong slope. Built as summerhouse, its owners wished to have a sense of outdoors in every level. From a structural point of view, our challenge was to fit a garage underground unlike the most obvious location at the street level as it is commonly done.
We designed the interior architecture of all three floors, improving the use of the environments with special effort in reconnecting the house with its exterior spaces. On the upper level, we created the the day time space of the house with an entrance, kitchen and dining, and lounge spaces directly linked to the roof of the bedrooms below, which acts as an large terrace space.
The Mediterranean inspired us to design a house full of natural light. From the outset, the clients professed a series of emotional and functional requirements: they wished to have new dynamic and fluid living spaces, and able to adapt to everyday life. They wanted to have a nice place to cook, share and enjoy life outdoors. That is why we designed a kitchen with fluid connection towards the dining area and the lounge. We implemented natural materials such as marble and solid oak along with a fireplace to create a comfortable environment. We opened large windows towards the garden to take full advantage of the incoming natural light and sea views.
