Fiat NYC Showroom: The Retail Design Collective

B+N Fiat NYC Showroom: The Retail Design Collective

B+N Industries as Manufacturers

Each year we challenge our team to come up with a new design concept for this annual show, and simultaneously use it as a platform to premier our newest product line. This year we decided to turn our New York Offices and Showroom into a FIAT pop up using Fortina, our newest product line from Japan, and our System 1224.

Oh, and did we mention that we also decided to giveaway a #FreeFIAT to a lucky visitor? Find out why below.

When we think of branding that is of the moment, one of the first companies to “pop up” in our brainstorm session was FIAT. For 27 years this classic Italian brand, which humorously stood for “Fix It Again Tony” lie dormant in the US, and yet with the perfect amount of seductive marketing and craftsmanship, Generations Y and Z now know that “the Italians are coming” and “life is best when driven”. That said, FIAT was the obvious choice to complement our design attitude and provided us with the perfect giveaway to help drive traffic to our Fortina fortress.

Speaking of Fortina…

At first glance, you might think Fortina is simply pieces of wood that are cut into slats and spaced evenly throughout our Showroom. Beautiful yes, but not entirely remarkable. What the naked eye deceives you from knowing is that Fortina is not wood, it’s actually aluminum covered in paper. Wait, what? Yes, that’s right. Fortina is an innovative decorative material that utilizes printing technology to cover aluminum in a non-pvc surface that can be used for interior and exterior use. It is offered in a wide range of finishes, and has a touch and feel that is indistinguishable from real wood. Fortina is inherently green and has the power to dramatically enhance environments while offering a host of other benefits – from being lighter, to reducing material costs and project construction times, easier installation, as well as giving a more consistent color and finish than real wood. It can be used to transform walls, ceilings, handrails, cladding, garage doors, and countless other applications, or paired with our System 1224 as shown below in our pop up.

System 1224 is unique in its own right, or as VMSD noted, has the ability “to transform environments, minus the tool belt.” This incredible wall mounted, modular system of paneling, shelving, cabinets, or desks if you desire, can adapt to any interior, aesthetic, or merchandising type without the use of a single tool post installation. This means complete flexibility in manipulating the interior walls of your space due to marketing, seasonal, or inventory needs. In addition, you can apply custom magnetic graphics, that can also be moved in a moments notice, to display a message on the individual panels or a single image as we have below.

What better way to introduce you to our vision, or help you revisit it, than through a journey of pictures. Check out the details below for information on specific materials and to see the incredible diversity of both Fortina and our System 1224.
