The monument preservation goal of recreating the spatial character typical of Gründerzeit-era city churches around St. Heribert is being achieved.

Thanks to its standalone positioning, the new parish center presents itself confidently toward Deutzer Freiheit. At the same time, it integrates harmoniously into the overall ensemble through its choice of materials—which echo those of St. Heribert—and by adopting the church’s cornice heights.

The spacious area between the new parish center and St. Heribert forms an urban square with a distinctive aura, offering a unique atmosphere and spatial quality. This is where the church opens itself to the city.
