The aim of the project was to transform three offices into a single one, with open views and easy connections. The client’s team operates in three groups, each was given a different work space.
The designers and programmers are located in the large space, the main workroom, organized in teams. This central space is flexible and characterized by the introduction of a continuous wall of panels that conceal cabinets, entrances to sanitary facilities and the server room.
The second area was designed for the project managers directly connected to the main workroom, closer to the entrance/reception, connected to the meeting room behind the third work space, the directors’ office which has a clear view and access to both the work and meeting rooms. The meeting room also acts as an extension of the directors’ space via a sliding panels and continuous cork wall covering for brainstorming purposes.
A kitchen / common area answer to the additional functionality of the office and connect to the balcony. It has a well-organized layout designed alongside with the client to improve lunch times as well as mid-morning and afternoon meals, while also allowing for an informal work/lounge space.
As a guiding principle, we opted to maintain some pre-existent elements, even exhibiting traces of the construction process and, for maximum flexibility, most infrastructural elements were kept on display. Different lighting solutions were introduced and studied with the client in order to answer the different team’s requirements, some were even developed on site.
