Giallo is a small, deftly made and atmospheric project located on Vosstaniya street, 16. It is defined as "Italian neobistro with bar," and it is, but even more. Alexander Grokhovsky is an ideologist of the project, his concept is whole and beautiful: inspired by old Italian cinema of the 70s-80s (giallo is a subgenre with elements of thriller and erotica), a lot of chrome, ultra-gloss varnish and impeccable style. Everything develops in the best way when there is such a powerful "springboard".
Our work started with drawing up a few moodboards in September 2021. Such an excellent theme is so fascinating, and the design was created "in one breath": a plan solution with a central bar was found on the first attempt, and the visual part of the interior gathered quickly and clearly with minimal variations. It's a real inspiration!
The main part of guest area is the first hall with a semicircular bar and diverse seats. The bar is designed to be the main accent and center of attraction, with a marble countertop in same level with work surface. It's the perfect dominant completed with a retro-futuristic ceiling shape. The second big object is a lacquered flat wooden wall at the end of the hall, with mirrors, apertures and a built-in service station. This is the main keeper of the ultraglane, an important conceptual back and component of the whole atmosphere. The rest of the walls are solved by the careless texture of the unaligned walls, wrapped in a blank olive-gray glossy paint that plays and shimmers, creating a bottomless backdrop for all the amazing interior objects. The floor serves as a decoration of the vintage Italian concept - this is a real breccia that seems to have always been here...
The small hall is a private room with a few seatings on a strange sofa with view of open kitchen's giveaway. But the main feature is the audio sideboard. The fact is that music always plays here only from vinyl, and you can (and should!) watch the process here and look through the sophisticated musical collection. Furniture is a special pride here. All seatings and decorative lighting is strict Italian vintage collected at auctions. Although not everything was brought, now it seems like a luck, and a rare interior can boast of such an impressive exposition of original design icons.
The interior of Giallo gives to guest a special atmosphere based on a strong and whole concept. This project is an example of a real creative act, when a beautiful idea develops and collects all the components around it, turning into a unique product. For us, the opportunity to take part in such a special project is a great joy and honor.
