HIDEOUT
Hideout is a new project from the Wynwood Hotel team, reimagining the former buildings of the Imperial Marine Guards crew in St.Petersburg as a vibrant community quarter. Hideout doesn’t have the usual hotel rooms or apartments. All the spaces here are called residences, each uniquely designed in collaboration with leading architectural and design studios, including Choice, Da Bureau, Delo, Saga, Yaratam, Form, Neymand studio and Paum.
HIDEOUT HISTORY
The Hideout quarter has existed since the mid-18th century and witnessed all the Russian emperors, as the Imperial Naval Guards Crew was stationed in its buildings.

Hideout is a community of like-minded individuals. All projects around Hideout form a unique ecosystem within the block on Rimsky-Korsakov Avenue.

Supporting and collecting contemporary art is one of our missions, so in every residence, you can discover works by vibrant contemporary artists. Hideout not only collects and exhibits art, but also provides art studios for talented artists, allowing them to work and exhibit their art in the spaces.
RESIDENCE #4 by CHOICE
A TWOSTOREY BRIGHT RESIDENCE IN THE BEST TRADITIONS OF THE MANHATTAN ARTIST'S STUDIO. A light, voluminous, neutral-contemplative interior, the task of which is to emphasize a person's free nature and not be intrusive. Leather sofas, a subtle combination of metal textures and bricks, large canvases that split the space between the windows create the atmosphere of an art gallery and transfer it to the spaces of modern interior magazines. There are live trees in the center of the hall. The bathtub is located right by the bed on the second floor. The residence presents the works of independent photographer and founder of studio 11 copies Anna Khorosheva.
RESIDENCE #5 by CHOICE
A TWOSTOREY COMBINED RESIDENCE WITH A STUDY ATMOSPHERE, A LARGE HALL AND A LIBRARY. The color scheme of the residence envelops, and the sunny side balances it. Thereby, the space changes its functionality depending on the time of day and tasks: it is easy to relax here, and if necessary, adjust to the working mood. The deep green gloss of the walls, a large living room, a variety of textures, a library of collectible publications – all this allows you to literally drown in peace and comfort.
The residence presents the works of artist Sasha Frolova "311 Magnetron Multicolor Blue Lenticular print", the work of Evgenia Tut from the Ripple series and unique Vermeer heliogravures printed in Amsterdam by publishers and booksellers Scheltema & Holkema at the beginning of the XX century.
RESIDENCE #6 by PAUM
A TWOSTOREY RESIDENCE IN DELICATE TONES WITH A HINT OF RETROFUTURISM. A satellite of Residence No. 4, this space sets up a romantic disconnect from any fuss. The interior is dominated by light and delicate tones – white and dusty pink – and wood in the furniture decoration. The LED ceiling lights in the center of the hall look like flying saucers and refer to futurism, fashionable in France in the 1960s. A round dining table with a tree growing through it in the middle becomes the center of gravity in space. The large kitchen countertop inspires you to have a dinner party. The open bathroom on the second floor, as if on a terrace, helps to stop time and move anywhere in your fantasies.
The sculpture in the wall on the first floor is the work of Timofey Larionov "Family Idyll" in 2023, created from lime and acrylic. The residence houses Anna Khorosheva's photo work "Silence".
RESIDENCE #8 by Da Bureau
A LACONIC FUNCTIONAL RESIDENCE WITH A BATHROOM WINDOW AND ACCENT LIGHTING.
Heritage and modernity in this residence are in continuous dialogue: the high windows and the brick-work of the front wall have been preserved and restored in the space. The layout is above all here: behind the white panels, which create contrast and emphasize details, all the functionality is hidden –cabinets, kitchen and modern appliances. It is thanks to the cozy but practical layout that everything necessary for a comfortable life is hidden from view.
The residence houses two works from the series "Squares" by Evgeny Mikhnov-Voitenko. Works of art, as well as records and books are provided by KGallery.
RESIDENCE #9 by Delo
AN ERGONOMIC RESIDENCE WITH AN INTERIOR AND FURNITURE FROM THE DELO STUDIO. The space accommodates an entrance hall, a kitchen-living room with a large sofa, a spacious bedroom with a toilet and a shower. Spacious cupboards are provided in each room. The interior of the residence is concise, but as functional as possible. High floor-to-ceiling windows illuminate the space and connect it with a cozy courtyard. The walls are painted in a single calm color, the historical brickwork and the concrete ceiling are preserved. The apartments are furnished with serial Delo items, and the kitchen and other built-in furniture are custom-made according to studio drawings.
A painting by the artist Marta Martynova entitled "The Rose Garden" in 2024 was chosen as a bright accent for the residence.
RESIDENCE #10 by Saga
A BRIGHT MINIMALIST RESIDENCE IN A NORTHERN MANNER, ORGANIZED WITH A SINGLE STROKE. The entire functional part of the residence is compactly located on the long side of the rectangular space and forms something resembling a stone sculpture. The material palette of this residence includes historical brick, sandstone, concrete, and oak. All this looks monolithic, but not ponderous – as natural and rustic as the northern Europeans are used to.

RESIDENCE #13 by Yaratam Studio
A COTTAGE RESIDENCE IN THE SPIRIT OF COUNTRY HOUSES ON THE GULF OF FINLAND.
The main idea of the residence is to create a space in which you can slow down and live a moment in peace and harmony: hear the singing of birds and the rustle of leaves from the garden, the aromas of flowering trees and the salty air of the Gulf of Finland. The interior resembles an ultramodern cottage and is woven from feelings and impressions. The base of the space is color accents, including furniture and works of modern art. The creators of the residence were inspired by country houses on Kamenny Island – the Gauswald Cottage, the Follenweider House, and the Kustodiev School.
In the residence, you can see a new work by the artist Peter Kiryusha "Untitled" in 2024, provided by MYTH gallery.
RESIDENCE #14 by Form
A GALLERY RESIDENCE AND A CABINET OF CURIOSITIES WITH A PAINTED BEDROOM AND A WAVELIKE CHANDELIER.
The concept of this residence is based on the idea of creating a private art space where minimalistic design, unusual pieces of furniture and modern art are easily combined. The space opens up as a cabinet of curiosities, a casket with artifacts that you discover gradually, not immediately: objects of art, antiques, outlandish things. This is the so-called "wunderkammer" (from German Wunderkammer), a place to store a variety of rarities and secrets.
The walls in the bedroom are painted by artist Galya Fadeeva. The showcase located in the hall houses the works of St. Petersburg sculptors, which can be purchased their exposition will change.
RESIDENCE #15 by CHOICE
A CINEMATIC RESIDENCE WITH BATHROOM BY THE WINDOW, ANTIQUE FURNITURE AND SWING DOORS.
A chamber-like and at the same time sweeping interior with dotted intersperses of
various design solutions. The weightless charm and elegance of the details give the space a European bearing. Double swing doors are akin to a palace suite, a freestanding bathtub by the bedroom window, an elegant vintage armchair and an antique stove, the freshness of eucalyptus walls and glass elements turn the residence into a real film studio. The residence presents the works of MYTH Gallery artists — Petr Kiryusha and Alina Glazun.
RESIDENCE #16 by Neymand
A BRIGHT ATTIC RESIDENCE WITH A FIREPLACE AND AN AMPHITHEATER.
A residence with one of the best views in St. Petersburg, in which great attention is paid to architecture and layout. The space maximizes all its functionality – a kitchen, a living room with a fireplace, and an entrance hall. The bedrooms and bathrooms are connected to a common interior concept by means of a suite and circular motion. One of the highlights was the staircase to the second floor with steps and seats like a Roman amphitheater. The interior is decorated in bright colors, which emphasizes the volume of space. A lot of warm wood and other natural materials are used in the decoration.
For this residence, Neymand studio has exclusively designed all the built-in furniture, kitchen, doors, and bedrooms.
Client's Brief:
The client aimed to create diverse, unique residential spaces that merge functionality with artistic expression. Each residence was designed to evoke specific emotions and atmospheres, catering to different lifestyles — from contemplative minimalism to cozy, cottage-like retreats. The goal was to emphasize individuality while maintaining a connection with nature, heritage, and contemporary design trends.Planning Constraints:
The primary challenge was preserving historical architectural elements, including brickwork, high windows, and concrete ceilings, while integrating modern amenities. In some cases, space limitations required innovative layouts to maximize functionality. Residences with open bathrooms or unconventional design choices, such as amphitheater stairs and embedded art installations, required thoughtful spatial planning and technical precision.
Materials and Methods of Construction:
A variety of materials were used to highlight the distinct character of each space:
Natural Elements: Oak, sandstone, and wood create warmth and connection to nature.
Industrial Textures: Concrete, metal, and brickwork preserved historical aesthetics and added contemporary contrast.
Art Installations and Furnishings: Sculptures, paintings, and photography by renowned artists such as Anna Khorosheva, Sasha Frolova, and Timofey Larionov bring uniqueness to each residence.
Custom-Built Furniture: Bespoke kitchen sets, cabinets, and living spaces were designed according to individual studio layouts, ensuring both practicality and artistic flair.
