The house is the result of the transformation of a small weekend home, built in the 1960s, into a permanent residence for a single person. The building is integrated into the existing stone walls and connected to the surrounding land through wooden floors. The brick and concrete roof (adequately insulated) is maintained, and to improve living comfort, a wooden sub-roof with a ventilated cavity and exposed beams is installed.

The project stemmed from a desire to preserve the memory of the site and the building's original simplicity, while simultaneously improving its spatial, energetic, and material quality.

The house, located in a landscape characterized by slopes and natural vegetation, now opens onto the garden and sea views, becoming a welcoming and bright place for everyday life.

The pimary goal of the project was to breathe new life into an ordinary structure, transforming it into a contemporary, sustainable space that blends harmoniously with the landscape.

The intervention was guided by three principles:

Light and openness – The introduction of new, large windows orients the house toward the outside, establishing a direct connection with the surrounding nature and the panoramic view.

Authenticity of materials – Larch wood and local stone are combined to create continuity between the existing structure and the new intervention.

Energy efficiency and comfort – Improved insulation, new windows, and the use of natural materials allow the house to be used year-round, with reduced energy consumption and constant thermal comfort.

The interior spaces have been redesigned with a fluid flow: the living room becomes the hub of the home, extending out to the terrace and garden, while the private spaces are organized in a functional and intimate manner.

The house represents a discreet yet complex project, capable of restoring value and quality to a simple building through a coherent, measured, and sustainable architectural language.

It's an experience of how, through attention to detail and careful design, an ordinary home can be regenerated, transforming it into a place of balance and light.
