A CONTRAST AND COLOUR IN GOAT’S, SHARJAH, FLAGSHIP RESTAURANT

H2R Design was behind the interior design for GOAT’s new flagship restaurant at Al Mamsha, Sharjah, delivering a bold and immersive environment that translates the brand’s identity into built form.

Drawing inspiration from industrial urban environments, vintage factory spaces, and contemporary fast-casual dining concepts - where branding becomes architecture - the design is a flagship expression for the contemporary burger brand. It marks a confident evolution of GOAT’s visual language, remaining firmly rooted in its playful, energetic, and unmistakable DNA.

From the outset, the clients brief was to create an interior that feels industrial yet approachable, bold yet balanced. Central to this vision was elevating GOAT’s iconic yellow and transforming the restaurant into a high-energy dining experience where branding, food, and atmosphere work seamlessly together. The space is designed to celebrate movement and visibility, placing the food-making process at the center of the guest journey and allowing the energy of the kitchen to shape the overall experience. The design draws inspiration from industrial urban environments, vintage factory spaces, and contemporary fast-casual dining concepts where branding becomes architecture.

This idea comes to life through the show kitchen, which forms the visual and experiential heart of the restaurant. Fully immersed in GOAT’s signature yellow, the kitchen functions not only as a working space but also as a bold architectural statement. Designed as a sculptural element within the interior, it is highly visible and expressive, drawing guests into the process and reinforcing the connection between brand, product, and place.
Surrounding the kitchen, the interior unfolds through a clear zoning strategy that creates distinct yet cohesive experiences. The main seating areas are grounded in an industrial framework defined by raw textures, open ceilings, and neutral tones. These elements are carefully softened through vintage-inspired furniture and warmer finishes, creating moments of comfort and approachability within the industrial shell and encouraging guests to linger.

To this, balance remained a guiding principle throughout the project with H2R Design deliberately explored contrasts - raw versus refined, industrial versus playful, and bold color versus neutral calm. Every aspect of the layout, material palette, and color placement was carefully orchestrated to ensure the interior feels energetic without overwhelming.
Contrasts in materiality too played a key role in shaping the character of the interior with each material selected to balance toughness with warmth and approachability. Micro-topping flooring provides a seamless industrial base, while textured walls and exposed ceilings enhance the raw aesthetic; PU-painted yellow surfaces are used extensively throughout the kitchen and counter areas, contrasted with stainless steel joinery and furniture for industrial authenticity.

Throughout the space, colour is treated as a spatial tool rather than a surface application, allowing the brand to be experienced at scale and giving GOAT’s confident personality a strong architectural presence. The colour strategy plays a critical role in transforming the interior into a fully immersive brand environment, with GOAT Yellow used boldly as the hero color to define energy, identity, and focus. This intensity is carefully balanced through softer buttery yellow and off-white tones introduced in seating and upholstery, providing moments of visual relief and comfort. Subtle hints of blue appear in lighting and joinery details as a refined nod to GOAT’s wider brand palette, while neutral industrial tones ground the space, allowing the yellow to remain powerful without overwhelming the interior.
