The Birdie Golf Club project in Almaty became an exploration of the nature of elite comfort and my personal statement on contemporary classicism. Method. From Continuity to Reinterpretation The club’s relocation was not merely an expansion in square meters.
I saw in this task the risk of losing the brand’s DNA. My priority was to preserve the sense of intimacy and a “private circle” within a larger volume. I work with spatial memory: part of the furniture from the previous venue was deliberately restored and integrated into the new architecture. This creates the effect of a long-standing tradition—a feeling that the club has a history, even if the space has only just opened. Palette as Character. Dignity and Provocation I treat color not as a background, but as a psychological structure. The foundation is a dense, enveloping green and dark wood. This is not merely an ecological reference, but a way to “ground” the interior, giving it stability. The true break from convention occurs when burgundy is introduced into this aristocratic calm. This deep, almost wine-like shade is my authorial gesture. It works in contrast, like a precious stone in a строгой оправе, adding drama and referencing the aesthetics of high fashion. This is the highest level of mastery—when technology ensures the seamless operation of the club while remaining entirely invisible. The result is a cohesive environment where classical aesthetics do not conflict with technological sophistication, and the compressed timeline became a test of my professional discipline. Birdie is an interior with intrinsic dignity, reflecting my perspective on design: intellectual, precise, and slightly bold.
