GREEN ROOM draws inspiration from the backstage lounge where performers gather before stepping onto the stage.Some compose their nerves, while others prepare themselves for the moment when they will shine brightest. The project began by translating this “time before the stage” into the atmosphere and spatial flow of the interior. Inspired by the moment a spotlight illuminates a performer, the design centers on the movement of light and the sculptural tension created by intersecting planes. At the entrance to the shampoo area and around the central double-sided styling station, contrasting planes intersect to create a structure that draws the gaze toward a single focal point. This spatial composition evokes the moment when stage lights converge upon one performer.

Rather than relying on decorative gestures, the space focuses on contrasts between light and shadow, density and openness. Indirect lighting flows across restrained monochromatic materials, creating an atmosphere that is both calm and immersive. The darkened shampoo zone, in particular, is conceived as a place of pause—like a backstage room where one can briefly step away from the stage, breathe, and unwind. GREEN ROOM is a space that holds the quiet moments spent preparing for one’s own stage.
