ABLA Designs Greenbow Park at PulteGroup’s Aries Master-Planned Community in Henderson, Nevada

Greenbow Park, the first completed park within PulteGroup’s new Aries master-planned community in Henderson, is now open to the public, bringing new opportunities for recreation, play and gathering to the growing community.

Designed for PulteGroup by Arizona-based planning, landscape architecture and design firm ABLA, the 3.57-acre park features open-play turf, pickleball courts, shaded gathering areas, multigenerational play structures for children ages 2–5 and 5–12, and more than 3,000 linear feet of trails. Overlook seating is strategically positioned to capture views of the Las Vegas skyline.

“A community park has to work for different people and different moments,” said Mark Panza, RLA, associate at ABLA. “At Greenbow Park, we wanted to create a place where people can play, exercise, meet their neighbors or simply spend time outside. As Aries continues to grow, the park will give residents a shared place to come together and connect with their community.”

Greenbow Park is part of Aries, a new 1,100-plus-acre master-planned community taking shape along Lake Mead Parkway on the site of the former Three Kids Mine. Plans call for more than 3,000 homes across 24 neighborhoods, including single-family and multifamily housing.

The former Three Kids Mine produced manganese from 1917 to 1961. The property later underwent a large-scale environmental cleanup that cleared the way for redevelopment.

While the site's mining history did not directly influence Greenbow Park's design, its existing elevation changes created grading challenges for the design team. ABLA worked closely with the city of Henderson to meet city requirements while addressing the site's conditions and PulteGroup's goals for the park.

“Some of the most important decisions in park design are the ones visitors may never consciously notice,” Panza said. “Grading, circulation and transitions between spaces all have to work together so people can move through and experience the park naturally.”

Greenbow Park opened in September in conjunction with the grand opening of Aries, which brought together PulteGroup, the City of Henderson and project partners involved in bringing the new master-planned community to life.
