Hanging Garden

To own an independent bungalow on an independent plot in urban areas is a dream of every person.

 

Which many of us can not afford and hence are forced to compromise with an apartment.

 

--Hanging gardens, designed by Architect Sunil Patil and Associates ,  is an attempt to fulfill these dreams. Where people though stay in an apartment, can have all the facilities like an independent bungalow.

 

DESIGN CONCEPT

The project is designed with a contemporary style of architecture. It is designed with 6 floors with one luxurious apartment on every floor having area of 1800 sq.ft and huge terrace accommodating a well designed garden and a plunge pool in it. Each apartment consists of living - dining, kitchen, 3 bedrooms with attached toilets and store and utility etc to support today’s urban life style.

 

Living, dinning and kitchen has been designed as one space without any partition which visually enhances the space. The terrace is also an extension of living and dining spaces and a bedroom. Thus, making all the primary spaces of the apartment getting openings to the terrace with plunge pool and garden.

 

Today because of the building bylaws, the balconies have vanished from the apartment. So one can’t enjoy balcony in a regular apartment. Hence bedrooms have been designed with 3 sides open with glazed doors and a railing which gives feel of the balcony when kept open.

 

MATERIAL PALLETE

No compromise has been made with the quality of the materials used in the construction. The material chosen for the interior decoration is very simple and well in a budget of the builder for a two tier city like Kolhapur. Ex: walls are cladded with shera planks which give a look of wooden cladding & full height glazed windows allow the feel of balcony.

 

To give an air of luxury and class to the minimalistic style terrace, Kajariya Wooden finished vitrified tiles are used. Here the terrace with a plunge pool is finished with glass mosaic tiles and garden with plotted plants adds up to the charm.

 

A simplistic look for the interior rooms is given with a white wash walls and wooden look alike finished vitrified tiles both complement for a dynamic look. Although the main aim of any window is to invite natural light and fresh air into a structure, we can all agree that they add to the visual aesthetics and beauty as well. Here use of Powder coated aluminum sliding windows is done. Maximum use of plot area has been made to give the best to the builder.

 

FAÇADE & FABRICATION

The building façade is a composition of well juxtapose masses of shera cladding and rough texture plaster giving a high tech look for the building. The columns supporting the terraces, cladded with aluminum composite panels continue to the pergolas on the top terrace resembling it like strings holding the terraces. Intricate detailing was done to provide drainage for the terrace’s garden which is filled with soil to ensure leakage free soffits.

 

CLIMATIC RESPONSE LIGHT AND VENTILATION

The building is designed to suit tropical climate and is energy efficient. The south walls have been blocked and large openings on the north have been given to admit sufficient light in all areas. Ample cross ventilation in all the rooms reduces the use of air conditioner in harsh summer. LED lights have been used throughout.

 

The building lies in a very moderate area but has fetched double profit to the developers because of it’s out of the box design. Hanging garden has been a dream come true and real value for money for the end user and for the investor who has gained his brand value. Our vision to provide quality community living and enhance the better living experience has been fulfilled.

4. Interior Paints – Synthetic emulsion of Asian Paints.       
5. Railings - M.S. railing with glass.
6. Roofing – RCC Slab.
7. Sanitary ware – Jaquar.
8. Windows - Powder coated aluminum.
9. Exterior Cladding - Shera Cement Fiber Planks  and ACP Panel.
10. Swimming Pool – Finished with glass mosaic tiles.
11. Design Concept - The project is designed with a vernacular and contemporary style of architecture.
