Heller Street Residence

HIP V. HYPE as Architects

The spaces we inhabit play an integral role in our lives. A thoughtfully designed home provides a place to express ourselves, to rest and to foster our relationships.” - Slow Living, The Kinfolk Home.

Welcome to the Heller Street Residence designed by HIP V. HYPE.

A native garden and Japanese inspired genkan entry use local natural materials to provide a sense of solidity, calm and reflection. The kind of welcome that sets an agenda for the rest of the home experience.

Inside the Heller Street Residence, family conversation flows around the dining room table while inhabitants are nestled between a north facing private garden and a public front garden, creating connection with neighbours and life on the street.

Located next to a central void which provides morning and afternoon light, the kitchen acts as a central hub for family and friends.

The living room is focussed around the fire place (bush TV), with a considered connection to the back yard.

The dining area is a recessive space with a connection to both the front a rear of the property, providing a long view visually connecting the spaces.
