The project involves designing a small house in Binh Duong Province, located within a new residential area of an industrial park. Our goal was to create a compact, budget-friendly home for a family of three, focusing on essential daily needs. The owner requested simple materials and straightforward construction techniques that reflect the family’s values and lifestyle. The house’s footprint is minimized to allow more space for a surrounding garden.
Our primary design approach centers on using buffer spaces. We employ high ceilings to facilitate cross-ventilation and stack ventilation, enhancing airflow and improving the indoor climate. The buffer area helps regulate the microclimate and shields the interior from the west-facing sun. Overall, the house is conceived as a simple, breathable structure. By using locally available materials, we aimed to reduce construction costs, match the local construction level, and minimize environmental impact. We also sought to find beauty in simplicity, creating a close relationship between architecture and daily human activities.
