This house responds to three major requirements: adequate parking and exhibition space for the client’s six cars; airy living quarters; reinforced concrete structure polished and exposed.
The courtyard becomes then to play a key role: it functions as a medium between the supercar gallery and living areas. All the spaces of the house are arranged around this interior void, accessible along a north-south circulation path. In order to make the living room ceiling higher and to comply with the local regulations, the master bedroom beneath the living room was set a half story below the ground level.
The façade is articulated both horizontally and vertically to reach a scale appropriate for the finely sized context.
