Conceived as an entertainment space, House IX accommodates a master suite and a guest bedroom, tailored to the clients’ vision of a tactile, grounded aesthetic distinct from their primary home. Kiran Gala & Associates’ signature approach is evident in the thoughtful juxtaposition of materials that evolve gracefully with time. The design transcends a purely rustic language by incorporating carefully curated artwork and accessories, enriched by striking blue and rust accents, infusing the interiors with a dynamic yet elegant character. Intricate ceiling details and a seamlessly integrated air conditioning system further enhance the refined sophistication of the space.

Upon entering, the open-plan living and dining area extends an inviting embrace, framed by lush green vistas from the balcony. The dining area subtly highlights a Smeg refrigerator, a deliberate focal point within a bespoke credenza designed to echo its form and colour. Adjacent to this space, a discreetly positioned kitchenette and store room add practicality, leading towards the master suite. The master bedroom, complete with a private balcony, features a generous walk-in space that transitions into an en-suite bathroom. On the opposite end, a utility room and an intimate guest bedroom contribute to the home’s thoughtful functionality.

The material palette establishes a refined, monochromatic foundation, blending grey flooring tiles, taupe stucco walls, and beige veneer to create a cohesive visual harmony. In the master suite, warm wooden flooring pairs with accents of travertine marble and fluted panelling, enhancing the space’s understated opulence. The guest bedroom introduces a subtle variation through striped wallpaper, adding depth while maintaining the overarching tonal balance. Throughout the residence, carefully considered colour interventions enliven the earthy tones, while delicate brass detailing punctuates the design with quiet sophistication.

A striking expression of sustainability is found in the dining table, crafted from repurposed materials salvaged from the site. Composed of meticulously assembled marble remnants and fluted veneer legs, this bespoke piece exemplifies the project’s commitment to mindful resource use without compromising on elegance.
