Located on a picturesque forested plot near Łódź, Poland, this 300 m² single-family residence was designed for a client with a well-defined aesthetic vision. The building’s composition comprises two distinct volumes: a raw concrete rectangular block facing the street, and an archetypal pitched-roof structure extending toward the forest.

The pitched volume features elongated concrete brick cladding and an eavesless solar roof equipped with integrated photovoltaic panels. This seamlessly provides electrical power for both the household and an electric vehicle charging station. Facing the garden, extensive floor-to-ceiling glazing connects the living space and the wellness area directly to the outdoors. On warm days, these glass panels fully open, seamlessly integrating the terrace into the main living room. The outdoor area includes a covered swimming pool and a dedicated fire pit deeper within the wooded grounds.

Structural Innovation

To streamline construction, the concrete volume utilizes advanced prefabrication for both walls and floor slabs.

Walls: Double-wall concrete panels act as permanent formwork with built-in thermal insulation and double as the final finished surface.
Slabs: Prefabricated Filigree floor slabs reinforced with a cast-in-place concrete topping layer.
This modular off-site approach significantly reduced on-site construction space, accelerated the build schedule, and allowed for assembly regardless of weather conditions.

Spatial Layout

Ground Floor: Features a double-height open-plan living area combining the lounge, dining room, and kitchen, accompanied by an adjacent winter garden. This level also houses the master suite with a private bathroom, a home office, a guest restroom, and a dedicated spa area equipped with a sauna, shower, and exercise equipment overlooking the garden.
First Floor: Contains two additional bedrooms—one offering direct views of the surrounding woodland, and the other featuring a spacious private terrace opening into the canopy.
