MMA renovated a room of a vintage apartment near GakugeiDaigaku in Tokyo as a residence for a couple. While keeping the spacious composition unique to a vintage apartment, we designed the space to emphasize the unity of the overall color tone while adding functionality such as a walk-in closet and a shoe closet. A long counter connects the kitchen and the living/dining room.

The material used for this counter is the original cast stone MMA created for the design for the restaurant "The Sun & The Moon"at the Mori Art Museum (2015) and "REVIVE KITCHEN"(2018). Normally marble is the often-used for this type of counter, but this time, we created a unique counter table top by mixing round river stones to give a soft impression and various colors. The table has been designed to be an eye-catch, configured to be the centerpiece of the space, where guests and family members work and eat around it.
