House of Light

Paradox Studio as Architects

House of light is a project located at the southern part of Taiwan. A house for client to enjoy the weekend and vacation with family when they get away from city. The natural beauty of this house is its adequate sunlight from three sides opened façade. The project is aiming to create an open, undivided living space to enjoy dinning, reading time with family around. The open living area is where the creation invented the most.

TV wall is the wall where sunset light hits on, which also gives out a dramatic performance of nature light, therefore, we chose Julux by Shikoku, a Japanese brand mineral paint to create a wall that maintain quiet expression but the texture also able to show the light difference during the day time. Julux is a material to mimic traditional Japanese juraku wall (mixing natural clay, sand, straw and water). With the newly technology, Julux is made with diatomaceous earth, natural sand, clay and straw to help humidity control of the room where the family will spend their time the most.
