Jorakay Pavilion 2024 is a design-driven exhibition pavilion for Thailand’s leading construction brand, conceived as a temporary architectural installation that merges branding, culture, and sensorial design. Commissioned for Architect Expo 2024 in Bangkok, the pavilion was inspired by the grid-like texture of a crocodile’s belly—the brand’s long-standing symbol—which was reinterpreted into both a structural and conceptual system. This biological pattern became an architectural diagram directly aligned with the event’s theme, “Collective Language: Sensory Architecture,” transforming an emblem of the brand into a contemporary design language.
The pavilion invites entry from all directions, guiding visitors through curated zones that prioritize experience over conventional exposition. Instead of traditional shelving and product display, Jorakay’s innovations are communicated through visual storytelling, animated content, digital media, and spatial rhythm. Green surfaces, ambient lighting, and interactive installations are integrated into the design, creating a holistic brand journey that feels more like a cultural exhibition than a commercial booth. The result is an architectural experience that embodies the brand’s identity in an abstract, memorable, and visually striking way—turning a commercial necessity into an artistic statement. From texture to form to narrative, every element was designed to leave a lasting impression.
Beyond its aesthetic and experiential qualities, Jorakay Pavilion 2024 reflects the ongoing story and commitment of the brand. Jorakay continually evolves its products to meet modern construction needs, and these aspects were expressed through the innovative pavilion design, building upon the success of Jorakay Pavilion 2023 while breaking away from the conventions of standard product display. Designed by DUCTSTORE the design guru., the pavilion extended the Key Visual of Architect Expo 2024 by incorporating the grid system derived from a crocodile’s belly into an architectural diagram. This not only reinforced the symbolism of Jorakay’s brand mark but also abstractly represented one of its most renowned core products—tile grout—through the rhythm of lines, solids, and voids in the structure. The pavilion was thus not only photogenic and conceptually bold, but also deeply rooted in the narrative of the brand.
Jorakay Pavilion 2024 ultimately served as a bold refresh of Jorakay Corporation’s identity, presenting brand innovation through architectural interpretation. It was designed to resonate with architects, designers, and younger audiences at Architect ’67, positioning the pavilion as more than a showcase of building materials but as a spatial narrative that communicates a renewed vision through immersive experience. Additionally, sustainability was integrated into the design approach. The pavilion was partially designed for disassembly and reuse, with elements such as steel structures and wooden panels repurposed for other projects or donated to educational institutions. While not all materials were recyclable, the effort reflected a genuine awareness of environmental responsibility and a commitment to ethical design in practice.
In its entirety, Jorakay Pavilion 2024 merges brand storytelling with sensorial experience, balancing abstraction and identity, and embodying the theme of “Collective Language: Sensory Architecture” through a pavilion that was at once an exhibition, a thematic pavilion, and a bold brand statement.
