The interior design draws inspiration from hanok, traditional Korean houses, where the back of the home is typically reserved for fermentation, preparation, and cooking. This concept is thoughtfully translated into both the layout and ambience of the space.

The walls are adorned with textured surfaces reminiscent of the rough outdoor walls found at the back of hanok homes. Above the seating area, the ceiling mimics exposed wooden roof beams, subtly evoking the feeling of being in a the back of Korean home kitchen.

A key feature of Juksunchae is the full-wall shelving that displays fermented ingredients—symbolizing a deep respect for the time-honored processes of Korean culinary tradition.

Lighting plays an essential role in the spatial design. Above the kitchen, custom lighting shaped like a gable roof pays homage to traditional Korean architecture, subtly enhancing the character and focus of the space.
