This project began with a study on the outcomes created within a hair salon.
The Juno Hair Suwon Time Villas branch, located inside a department store, minimizes large open-facing areas and instead allows glimpses of the interior through subtle voids between masses. This composition encourages the interior to function as a more private space.
The layering of human hair and the volumetric effects created by perms were actively reflected in the spatial design. Every edge and boundary of the mass was shaped with curves to capture the soft and flowing image conveyed by curved forms. Through this approach, the brand’s image was expressed as gentle and cozy.
To enhance the perception of a premium salon, the interior units were divided with partitions, and multiple ceiling layers were employed to overcome the limitation of a low ceiling height.
