This project was hired by Porrua Libraries to adapt their offices inside a building in the Historic Center of Mexico City. The program articulates two levels: the ground floor and the rooftop. The rooftop was modified to become meeting rooms and common areas. A decision was made to emphasize the horizontal depth of the space and the existing columns, inserting a new MDF floor and a ceiling panel of the same material, adjacent to white walls. Additionally, a polycarbonate lighting element was placed as the only vertical element. An existing structure was demolished on the rooftop to create a steel and glass box that holds three open offices over two interior patios. The façade is treated with fixed crystals. This crystal box connects with the main façade to create an open terrace that is parallel to the new building.
