Khéma GO Flatiron is a compact coffee concept developed for Thalias Hospitality Group within the ground floor lobby of the Flatiron by Meridian tower in Phnom Penh. As the first of three projects delivered for the brand within the development, the design responds to the operational demands of a high-traffic business environment while maintaining alignment with the established Khéma identity.
Operational efficiency in a compact footprint
Positioned within a corner of the lobby, the space is designed to serve busy professionals seeking a short pause within a fast-paced workday. The layout prioritizes clarity of movement, quick transactions, and ease of use, supporting a takeaway-focused model offering ready-packaged food and beverages. This approach ensures the space performs efficiently within a limited footprint while maintaining consistent service delivery during peak periods.
Translating brand identity into an open environment
A key challenge was to retain the warmth and intimacy of the Khéma brand within an exposed and highly visible setting. The design addresses this through controlled spatial definition and a restrained material palette, allowing the café to remain distinct while integrated within the larger lobby environment. This balance supports brand recognition without compromising openness.
Material clarity and long-term performance
Inspired by Scandinavian design principles, the interior adopts a minimalist and functional language defined by light oakwood and grey concrete finishes. These materials support durability and ease of maintenance while establishing a clear visual identity. Clean lines and a reduced palette reinforce legibility and operational efficiency.
