60 years later, the living room of a simple Tyrolean country house built in 1962 underwent an all-round transformation: above the head the exposed roof truss, in front of the eyes generous glass surfaces to the south and west - this is the stage for the open kitchen with dining area, the new central actor of the house. For the client and architect, as a passionate cook, it was obvious to focus on the free-standing kitchen unit with integrated stove. Like the kitchen unit, the monolith was handcrafted by a carpenter. The result fits timelessly into the existing ensemble in its appearance and is complemented by a conference table converted into a dining table with refurbished vintage chairs. Perfectly imperfect and yet absolutely coherent: the custom-made terrazzo tiles and the sand-colored clay plaster.
