Retail interior KKeC Leidschendam

Zoetmulder as Architects

KKeC Leidschendam is the second store that ZOETMULDER has designed for this special gift shop. After the first design for KKeC Rotterdam, we further developed the interior concept for the KKeC store in ‘The Mall of the Netherlands’ in Leidschendam.

The design is based on the store concept we developed ‘Less is a bore’. The concept combines the wide range of gift products with a clear shopping experience. This creates a playful KKeC identity in the interior with the recognisable pentagonal KKeC shapes. These are combined with a bold colour palette on a neutral base of white and wood. The store breathes KKeC, in all furniture and graphic accents.

What is special about this assignment is that we also designed a unique KKeC facade. The facade design is based on the recognisable KKeC shape. This shape has been translated into an inviting red gate made of folded steel and pink glass. The sight lines from the shopping center have been optimally taken into account. The visitor's gaze is drawn into the store and the gate welcomes you into the world of KKeC.

The store has the same atmosphere as the KKeC store in Rotterdam, but we also developed new custom elements for the location in Leidschendam. For example, a new display concept has been designed for the checkout. This consists of a composition of diamond shapes on the wall behind the cash register, where the newest products can be highlighted in a playful way. The concept of the order counter has also been redesigned. This is a combination of a high counter and a costum-made table. Of course in the recognisable KKeC shape!
