Koeuenji SOHO is a renovation of an 85 year old residential building that originally housed a traditional Japanese Sweet Shop on the ground floor. The structure was redesigned to function as both an architecture office, residence and meeting space. Utilizing the pre-exisitng material and spatial qualities of traditional Japanese architecture while enhancing them through , thus enriching one’s overall experience was key in renovation of the building. An amalgamation of minimal modern glazing, Japanese craftsmanship, renewed climate systems and a carefully thought out selection of tasteful modern furniture have contributed in creating a serene atmosphere for everyday use.
